Welcome to our blog!

If you're visiting for the first time, you may want to start
here.

My husband and I will celebrate six years of marriage on July 8, 2013, and after a lot of praying, hoping and dreaming, we welcomed our first baby boy into the world on August 18, 2011. About a year later, we were blessed with a second pregnancy and welcomed our beautiful daughter into the world on March 22, 2013.

Today, we're just doing life. Trying our best to live each day with intention and purpose while keeping our eyes fixed firmly on our Creator.

God has blessed us more richly than we could ever have imagined, and in all things,
His grace has fallen like rain on our life together.

We couldn't ask for more.

Mt. Jefferson Park

Yesterday, Adam and I embarked on a 10.2 mile hike into the Mt. Jefferson wilderness; more precisely, to the foot of this enormous, majestic mountain.  Wow!  It was amazing.  We were absolutely in awe of the majesty of Creation and the beauty that surrounds of everyday.  We both remarked on the new perspective it gave us--God has shaped and molded the entire world around us, how can we not find the faith to trust Him with our lives?

Here are a few photos of the journey:

On our way up the trail!  It was a 10.2 loop that gained about 1800 feet in elevation.

The first glimpse of an amazing view.  Off to my left is the Three Pyramids and Coffin Mountain, which we have also hiked this summer!!

Some very nice ladies took our picture together <3

Is that not amazing?!  We're getting closer...

Every time the path turned, we found ourselves with another incredible view of Mt. Jefferson.

And here we are in Mt. Jefferson park!  Really, the "park" is just a series of meadows and lakes with paths criss-crossing back and forth.  We had such a great time exploring the meadows and resting by the beautiful lakes.

Just breath-taking!  Such a gorgeous day for a hike.

On our way back down.  What a gorgeous view behind us!!

In the end, this was one of our all-time favorite hikes.  Before the summer is over, we want to hike the South Sister...but the trick will be finding a weekend that works!  More to come on that later :)

I'm going to end with a Bible verse that I ran across yesterday---it just resounded deep in my soul and I want to include it in this post for posterity:

"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained in it. Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed." Hebrews 12:11-12

Is that not powerful?  I just love it.
